Feast your eyes on fine arts
Calling all fine art aficionados! Put the Annette Howell Turner Center for the Arts at the top of your list. This premier regional arts center located in downtown Valdosta offers 30 exhibits annually, including a 600-piece East African art collection and more than 30 pieces of antique European fine porcelain. Some of the more prominent works on display at the Center’s 17,000 sq. ft gallery in past years included works by Lamar Dodd and Andy Warhol.
In addition to their ever-changing exhibits, the center offers art talks, concerts, book festivals and children’s events for visitors.
But wait! The fine arts fun doesn’t end there! While strolling through downtown, make a stop into Artists on Ashley to view featured works by local painters and potters Jeanne Cowart, Annette Crosby, Ellen DeWar, Walter Hobbs, Deb House and Pam Scruggs. For more #VeryValdosta local art with a Southern touch, peruse paintings, metalwork, ceramics, woodwork, glass and jewelry at Kaleidoscope Gallery & Emporium. Their one-of-a-kind pieces are great souvenirs from your trip to South Georgia.
